When it comes to styling my hair, I like products that add volume, but I also don't like to invest a lot of time. I always use a detangling brush designed for wet hair after my hair has been gently towel-dried. I then add a small amount of the Pantene Pro-V Ultimate 10 BB Creme to the bottom half of my hair, focusing on the ends. I am prone to split ends, and this product helps keep my hair smooth, detangled, and frizz-free. It is also inexpensive! It is quite similar to the Alterna Caviar CC Cream in my opinion. I then give my hair a quick spritz with the Chi Volume Booster and brush it through. A lot of the time I will then just let my hair air dry. If I need to, I will give it a quick blow dry with my head upside down to add extra volume. I use the Nume Signature Hair Dryer, but make sure you search online for a coupon code, as you can always get a discount!
However, if I haven't just washed my hair, I first have to soak up the extra oil and add more volume into my flat, greasy-looking hair. I use the Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-Powder first. It is expensive, but I don't use very much, and the bottle seems to be lasting for quite a while. I shake some into the roots of my hair and then massage it in to get rid of the white residue. If my hair is still looking oily, I spray a little bit of the Batiste Hint of Color Dry Shampoo in Dark and Deep Brown at the roots and then brush it through. I've been wanting to try the Medium/Brunette variety as it's a little bit lighter, but it's not carried in my Ulta. I love this dry shampoo. It's inexpensive and is often buy one, get one 50% off at Ulta. However, if I use too much I don't like the way it makes my hair feel, and it can make my hair color look a little bit off. The combination of the Bb powder with a little bit of the Batiste spray dry shampoo works great for me.
If I'm going to wear my hair straight, I add in some Bumble and Bumble Prêt-à-Powder to the roots for volume and texture if my hair has been freshly washed, and that's it. Quick and easy. However, if I have 5-10 extra minutes, I like to add some waves. I give my hair a spray with the Kenra Thermal Styling Spray to protect it from heat damage and provide some hold. I then curl my hair away from my face with the Conair You Curl Styling Wand XL. It has silicone strips to help grip my fine hair. It does come with a grip, but I don't use it as the tip of the curling wand is coated so you can hold it without getting burned. Depending on how much time I have, I will curl smaller or larger sections for tighter or looser waves. Once my hair has cooled, I use my fingers to comb through and loosen up the curls. Then I spray it with the Alterna Caviar Working Hairspray. It's an ultra-dry hairspray with flexible hold. I can brush through my hair after using it, and it won't become frizzy. It has great hold, and it doesn't way my hair down. I have been using the same bottle for 6 months now, so it seems to have been a great investment!
