To start with, let me tell you a little bit about my skin. I have oily combination skin that is sensitive. My pores clog easily, and I experience acne breakouts at least once a week. I am prone to acne clusters on my cheeks and jawline that leave behind large, red marks. When I was younger, I had pretty good skin that was mostly dry. I have always taken great care of my skin, but when I reached 22, I was dealing with hormonal issues, and my skin went crazy. It became very oily, and I began getting severe cystic acne. I have been trying different products over the last 3 years, and I am fairly happy with my skincare routine at this time. Overall, my skin is softer and less irritated, and my breakouts are much less severe.
Now, on to the products I am currently using. First thing in the morning, I wash my face with the Laura Mercier One-Step Cleanser, which is a gentle oil-free cleanser and toner in one. I make sure to massage the cleanser around my face for a full 60 seconds. After rinsing my face and patting it dry, I apply the Neutrogena Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30. It contains Vitamin C and Retinol. This is the newest product to my skincare routine. I have been using it for 4 weeks now, and my skin is definitely softer, and it does seem to help the acne marks start to fade a little bit quicker. I then apply an eye cream, although I have not yet found one worth investing in. To be honest, I like to choose eye creams as my samples and VIB point perks at Sephora, so I never feel the need to buy them. Currently, I am using Origins GinZing Eye Cream in the morning. That is it for the morning. I am usually in a hurry, so I like to keep it simple. I can cleanse and apply moisturizer in under 3 minutes, so I can move on to better things, like taking the dog out before she pees on the floor!
